254SMO (designation UNS S31254 / DIN 1.4547) is a copper- and nitrogen-alloyed chromium-nickel-molybdenum super austenitic stainless steel. Its high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content makes it particularly suitable for high chloride environments, exhibiting significantly superior chloride corrosion resistance compared to 904L, 316L, 20 Alloy, and 825 Alloy.
This material offers excellent weldability and can be welded to other common austenitic stainless steels. It demonstrates outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
254SMO finds extensive application across multiple industrial sectors, primarily including: seawater treatment and desalination equipment, pulp and paper industries, petroleum refineries, chemical processing equipment, and food processing machinery.
